Arthur A. Fletcher Vanguard Award

The Arthur A. Fletcher Vanguard Award recognizes an individual who is in the forefront of promoting affirmative action in employment. This award is named in honor of the late Arthur A. Fletcher, “Father of the Affirmative Action Enforcement Movement.” The Vanguard Award acknowledges individuals or corporations well-established reputation for promoting diversity in personnel hiring practices, and in the purchasing of supplies and services, as well as their keen awareness of the value of that diversity to society as a whole. This award recognizes an individual or corporation for their dedication in working towards closing the income and wealth gaps in America by creating jobs for minorities.

Parren J. Mitchell Crusader Award

The Parren J. Mitchell Crusader Award recognizes an individual who pioneers and nurtures contracting opportunities for historically under-utilized businesses. This award is named in honor of the late former Congressman Parren J. Mitchell, “Godfather of Minority Business Enterprise.” The Crusader Award is the highest honor bestowed by ACCA. It is awarded to an individual who best symbolizes the spirit of a Crusader. This individual has achieved a level of distinction within his or her chosen field or profession and has brought extraordinary benefits to the community. The award recognizes an individual for vision, initiative, and for creating programs that advance the objectives of supplier diversity, and promote inclusion of all business enterprises in major development and redevelopment projects vital to the future growth of the business community.
